For the ones that read my blog, you might know that a month ago I was still behind Y&R. I started watching the July episodes. I am happy to report that as of today, November 26th, I am in the first week of November. So here are my impressions on the show so far.
The Diane Murder Mystery for me was a real bust, especially when we discovered that Patty was in town. That is what I hate with murder mysteries, it can never be Victor or the Newmans the people responsible for it, always the already established crazy ones. I don’t know how some people guessed it would be Patty. The two has had no scenes at all since Maura West took over the role of Diane and nothing seemed to indicate that Patty was coming back so soon. So for me, it’s a bust. I find I miss Maura West on my screen. I am still wishing all of this is some kind of trick or something and she is alive and well. Only time will tell.
One character that I have seen a lot of change in the last few months is Phyllis. Ever since Avery entered the picture, she has become a total bitch and basket case. Already not a normal reaction as a human being to not mention your family to anyone for decades, but to hate, and don’t attempt to sugar coat it, it’s pure hatred Phyllis shares for her sister and we are dying to know what a little sister could have done. So far the actress who portrays Avery is devine to watch. It’s fun to see her turn from nice to bitch and really enjoy her trying to get even with her older sister. I think taking Daisy’s case goes a little far… but I think we will enjoy every minute of it.
Heather is out of luck. I mean, she loses the case (on a technicallity), loses her man (Chance decided it was a good idea after all they break up, just when she realized she might of made a mistake, her ex-phycho lover goes after her again, by having pictures of the Assitant DA kissing her prime witness no less. When it turns out that Avery does not have to use them, Heather breathes for about 30 seconds, just enough time for Phyllis to take the pictures and publish them. Result: Instant lost of job and integrity, served cold by Phyllis and Heather’s brother Ricky.
The new odd ball on the show is Ricky. I don’t get him. I don’t understand how Heather supposdly having a better life would explain his attitude and choices. How is Paul to react to this type of news that his own son stabbed his sister in the back. I don’t like or trust him one bit and don’t see a redeeming quality, not one. He and Phyllis should be an item.
I am quite happy the debacle with Collin and Cane is over with. I will miss Tristan Rogers on my screen, but his character was not redeemable on any point. I am happy Jill realized it in time. I am happy that Y&R is portraying Genevieve as less a nut case and more humaine. I think Genevieve and Jack might become a new powercouple, and now that Collin is gone and done with, they have the room to explore that, unless Patty does something to them. Happy that Cane and Lily are finally back on track. Still there is no reason she should forgive him, he pretended to be a ghost and made her lose her mind. But she did. I did not like the Daniel and Lily reunion, they are over and done with.
You would think that the mega investigation that made Ronan not be able to talk about anything make him now talk more. The SOB still won’t explain why he left GC in a hurry and why he refuses to get close to brother Chance or mother Nina. Now Nina can be annoying at times, if she was my mother I probably would change my number every few months, but she means well. Everyone deserves the truth from him. But his hook up with Phyllis, that was hot! Unexpected and Hot !
There is an upcoming episode where Avery and Phyllis are stuck together, can;t wait to see it. But what I wish is that Phyllis grows her heart back and accepts her sister in her life, sooner rather then later. Who would you cast as Phyllis’ mother?
I am still rooting for Adam and Sharon. I am probably at minority but these two steams up the screen for me.
