I have to say in the last few months there is a few things that I found odd. First the dismissal of a few characters. Rick, Thorne, Felicia, Bridget and of course, Aggie… Here is a few things B&B could of done to make us happier about a few things.
Kyle Lowder as announced that he was leaving the series due to lack of story. Who did not see that coming a mile away? You can see how the character seemed bored and out of place during Thomas’ first fashion show. After the ridiculous story of him going after Jackie, they dropped the bomb on what I call the next generation character. Don’t get me wrong, the character has had story, he was involved with Pheobe, Steffy and Taylor for crying out loud. But none of them sticked. B&B seems to think that unless attached, the character has no story. Well for one, Amber was a story arc they could of explored. Amber as to feel a little resentment for being dumped at the time of need. And he has been saying for years that Amber was a mistake, what if that was all talk. Besides that one kissing scene, nothing else happened. Kyle and Adrienne could of sang on the show, that would of been a nice touch, but no, one kiss, go after Jackie and then the door. That is ridiculous. Another possible story could of brought him and Steffy on the same side to stop Thomas’ Man Line. A little bit of family drama, is it too much to ask for?
What about Sarah Brown. I mean they teased us with a never seen before storyline and we got what? Nothing new. Her character as been confusing, Sandy Summers, Agnes Jones, Aggie… just who the heck is she. It was good when it was revealed that she was related to Whip, so I was hopeful that with family around, they would be able to craft some type of story. Instead she became the predictable women hell bent in getting Nick. Sarah Brown deserved a lot more. The rape story could of been a very powerful story (like Stephanie’s cancer story). But no. They caught the guy, she supposedly testified and boom, story gone. Now she is a support player. What is all that about?
We can see that Ashley Jones days were numbered when the writers wrote her into a corner. First why the heck was the secret revealed so soon? Why the heck are they hell bent on making things NOT work between Bridget and Nick. I mean how many times can they try and fail? I think she is a brilliant and talented actress and think that B&B is making a grave error, she is already experimented with top shows in primetime, how long will it be before we see the announcement that she will leave the show? I mean, there are other men she could fall for, many other stories. She can go back being a doctor, whatever reason they changed that story for is beyond me. A grave error indeed.
How about the Forrester kids. I get that we focus on the 4 original cast members, but Lesli Kay and Windsor Harmon need to be back stat. They could join Steffy and Rick and take over Forrester from brother Ridge! They can start their own empire? Felicia as been gone for years, I am sure they can craft a story with someone from her past blackmailing her or holding a family secret? Anything!!
I hope that somehow this article reaches the people concerned. There are always a way to keep an actor on. Even on recurring, they can be used. Look at Tracey E. Bregman, she is amazing and they give her great stories.
I know this article was mainly negative, but a good move was having Y&R’s Olivia guest star on the show. Now, if only an amnesiac Drucilla could magically appear on the show? That would be fantastic.
